Disaster has struck, the crew must evacuate before the ship explodes. The ship ends up breaking in two, and the two parts crash into the world exploding in huge craters, Hior and Seres.
Crew end up in pods with groups they were not assigned to be with: landing teams are not ideally assigned
Many pods end up on the moons or in the water, or blown up in orbit.
